In the beginning of the book Gilbert is telling of her very laboured divorce from her husband resulting from many different things; she doesnt involve kids, she wants to experience life and is not ready to be buttoned down, etc. Shes kneeling in the bathroom sobbing to the groundwork and plead God to tell her what to do. We can all relate to this in one way or another. The tactile sensation of hopelessness care youll never get out of the hole youre in. The feeling of lonliness exchangeable no one around you really understands and youre by yourself in this world of over 6 billion people. Gilbert admits in the story that she hasnt talked to God ever before, but she inescapably him to service her right now. ...
